Ugly Elephant Party!

We decided to throw an Ugly Sweater/ White elephant party!! Everyone seemed to have a good time!
The kids liked under that table. Best eating place! (L to R- Edison, Chase, Thomas, Peyton, Essie, Stewart, and Nicholas)

We played a bunch of minute to win it Christmas games that I found. It was so fun. This was the marshmallow through the wreath, into the box, game! The Berry's were pretty good at it!

Here is Monica shaking her caboose for Junk in your Trunk Christmas bell style! We are still finding bells!

This is the Ornament kiss game. You had to take the ornament off the tree and put it on to the string only touching it with your lips! Travis here also won the ugly sweater contest!

It was fun!!

We had such a fun time. Prizes, yummy, food, games, and friends! I'm hoping we do it again next year!

Stewart made a cool gingerbread house at Joy School. He was nice enough to share with Edison. I let them eat as much as they wanted (which is unheard of for me)

It didn't take them long to eat it all!

One Saturday, we decided to do all our christmas goodies to give away! Why we do them with our young kiddos...I don't know but we had fun!

Santa came to our Ward Christmas Party!!

Boys had fun seeing him! Edison actually kind of froze when asked what he wanted. Just like on The Christmas story! He said "Remote control bat" what is that?? It was funny!

Stewart the goof! Asking for a dragon fortress (wonder where he got that idea ;))

So this is my 11 month old who rolls everywhere but would not crawl. Until... we put on of our Christmas tree bells in front of him...and he army crawled. After that, any chance he got, he would roll, or army crawl to a bell or even the kids Christmas tree. We tried to block it, but he would push his way through ;)

And here is Stewart...not taking time out seriously...

Edison at 5!!
Loves legos (now). He wants to play the wii, computer, or iphone whenever he is allowed too. He loves to play with friends and usually enjoys playing with Stewart. He is a fabulous big brother to Weston and a good help to me (when he's in the mood). Wrestling with his dad is his favorite thing to do when daddy comes home. That or playing chase! If music is on, he is a very willing dance partner. Edison likes to eat pizza, broccoli, cake, ramen noodles, grapes, wheat thins, carrots, and candy!! He loves to wear costumes, or his cape and be someone super!! He loves movies- especially Kung Fu Panda 2.
He is an emotional little guy. I can see my sensitivity in him. Once, when I got a speeding ticket a week ago, (which I haven't gotten in 10 years) he started to cry. Then he asked "How many tickets do you have to get before they take you to jail") I started tearing up just hearing that. He was worried they were going to take away his mommy. I love Edison so much. He is such a joy in our lives and I can't believe he was born 5 years ago! Happy Birthday buddy!

Having my 10 year reunion coming up, I had a hard time deciding if it was worth it to go! Luckily, I figured a girls weekend was in order and I did it! I got to see some of my dearest friends and have a little me time!

It was FABULOUS!

So everyone was supposed to make a funny face...or not!

After going to 5 different stores, looking for a bathing suit in October, I finally found one on clearance and I love it!! Before the reunion, Kelly and I just chilled by the pool!

Ready to see everyone! We were a little skeptical about going but it ended up being lots of fun!

Melissa came and crashed the party at the end (being the grade below us) and we went to IHOP!

Stewart decided to fall head first off our tramp, for the first time, onto concrete, when he had just recently moved it for our Aspen trees to be cut down.

Day two- swollen and red/purple

So it took him a while but he has fully mastered siting!

My boys playing "going to work" and then they come home and I've made them dinner with our plastic food. How quickly they have figured out adulthood and how it works! Very glamorous.

Best part about helping mom is the tasting!!

How is that even possible! I'm not sure when he grew up but now he's my super boy!! On birthday's they get to pick all their meals so today we had french toast and bananas for breakfast, corn dogs and peaches for lunch, and Mac N Cheese for dinner!

He loves to play nerf guns!! He is constantly holding Edison's! As soon as Dad comes home, it's time to attack. Wrestling then begins and both boys are in heaven.

For his birthday party, my lovely mother-in-law sewed super capes for all the kids! It was wonderful!! Stewart is constantly wearing his now and often comes to save the day! Here was our villain for the day...

Grandma and Grandpa didn't disappoint with a new fun game and a NEW GUN!! He can't pull it back himself but once it's geared up, it can shoot pretty far!

For his third birthday, he gave up his pacifier...we'll see how that goes!

Stewart recently figured out the tricycle and loves to zoom around on it when we go for walks. Unfortunately, the walk usually ends with Derek carrying his bike but he's getting there!

He loves to play with his brother Edison and make baby Weston smile. He is a great big brother who finds a toy or pacifier to give Weston when he's crying. He likes to try and hold him but Weston is a bit of a chunk so that doesn't last long ;)

Stewart is such a joy in our family. Yay, he is constantly causing mischief and his cute expressions usually get him out of most punishments. He is loving, kind, compassionate, energetic, athletic, funny, and an over all people person. People just seem drawn to him and are constantly telling me how cute and funny he is. I agree!

Edison FINALLY got over his fear of going under water! Now he is so proud and so are we!

Sharing with friends...we've taught him well.

Now the moment he's waited for... jumping off the diving board!

And he did. My camera didn't catch it- SO MAD- but he swayed his hands forward once, twice, three times and jumped. What a big boy I have!
On his sheet, the lifeguard said "Edison was my go-to-guy and I knew I could rely on him to set a good example for the other kids." He passed with flying colors! Now from Jelly fish to Sea Horse. Way to go Edison

My boys 6 Months!!

Weston is growing like crazy. He now weighs 16 lbs 4.5 oz (36%), height is 26 in (30%) and head is 17.5 (70 %). He is always happy, sleeps great, smiles tons, giggles when tickled or tired, adores his brothers, eats lots of milk and is starting on foods, loves his tongue, gets chubbier by the day, and an all around joy to have in our family. We love our Weston!!

Stewart's pet shark that he lost on the way out of the park. We went back to look but couldn't find it. Anytime Edison sees this picture he says, "that is so sad about Stewart's shark. Can we go back to Sea World and get him a new one?" I wish buddy!

Can I just say how much I love this couple. My brother has always had the kindest heart and would do anything for me. He was lucky enough to find a wonderful women who just makes him a better person. I love to be around them and feel their optimism, happiness, and love. I cannot express the joy I had attending this special ceremony. We are so proud and happy for you both and thank you for letting us be a part of it!

We picked up our kids afterwards from our friends, the Gales, (thanks again guys), and on the way to the little luncheon, all three passed out so I think they played hard!

Last Day of Joy School

So this year, Edison once again had the privilege to participation in a Joy School group. And this group was so much fun!

Edison loved going to school and being with his friends. It was funny to hear them say things like:

Kaylen: "I'm going to marry Jesse and Edison"

Jesse and Edison: "Aahhhh nooo, run away!"

How has that already started!

Edison will miss going to school with his friends next year. Half will go to kindergarten and half will go to a different preschool but luckily he'll still get to be with them each Sunday!

This year, Edison has learned to spell his name, recognizes more numbers and knows all the letters even better. He knows more shapes and has begun to notice them in the world around him. He has started to read and, although some days it's hard to focus, he is doing great! We are so proud of you Edison!!!

Derek turned the big 3-0 on May 10th! We tried to make it special for him!

We made him breakfast and then met him for lunch.

Any time there is a trip to the office, there is mandatory wii playing for Edison...and Derek

I've got the best and cutest boys!! They made me breakfast and cards and gave lots of hugs!

That day, we headed over to Derek's folks for dinner (thanks for cooking Dad) and play. Weston loves when Grandma sings patty cake to him!

We decided it was time to build our raised bed garden!

I think Derek was most excited to have an excuse to use his circular saw.

They occasionally helped dad...

but then got distracted by our new (to us) swing set! Thanks Berry's~ my boys love it!

And there is our finished product! We made two of them!

Another day, we planted tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, strawberries, cantalope, and watermelon! We still have more space and a drip line to install. These will be some pretty expensive veggies this year but it is worth it...and next year it won't cost that much! Yeah for gardening and the internet!

3 Months for Weston!

I can't believe 3 months has already passed with Weston in our family. It seems so short and so long at the same time.

We can't imagine our lives without this little guy

He's getting chubby and we LOVE it!

He often takes superman pose when laying on the floor. The loves to raise those arms up high!

He makes this cute big eyes, pucker face when he's concentrating on something

This is his Harrison Ford smile that we melt for.

You can't help but grin when you see those cheeks

And then he gives his shy smile with his face slightly turned, nose slightly wrinkled, smile with his tongue. We love our baby Weston. He really enjoys his baby einstein gym, still not a huge fan of his swing, eats lots, sleeps lots, toots lots, is loved and loves his brothers, is self entertaining on the floor, enjoys his binky and finally sleeping through the night on his tummy. What he doesn't do so well is tummy time. He isn't quite as wobbly when hold him in the sitting position but the minute you lay him down, he has no real desire to pick his noggin up! (Hence why there are no tummy shots of him) Oh well, he'll get there! I'll take my happy baby over a good tummy baby any day ;)We love our sweet Weston!!

While Derek made eggs-in-a-basket, one of my fav's, the boys have me their beautiful toy story art work and a rose. So sweet! I then found the rest of the dozen down stairs. Edison loves to buy me flowers and even says in his prayers every once in a while, "thanks for letting us buy flowers for mommy". or " bless that we can buy flowers for mommy" and then smiles because he see's me smile every time I hear him say it. I think he will be my link to having Derek buy me more flowers ;)

For lunch, my good friend Megan B invited us over and she got Olive Garden take-out! Another absolute favorite!!! We met some other friends there and had a great time! Thanks again Megan! That night, we went to McD's for dinner since Derek was taking me out Friday to the Ale house. While waiting for Derek's folks to come over for cake, the boys tried to get Weston to smile!

Then I got my wonderful Strawberry Cheesecake! HEAVEN!! (Edison kept telling Stewart to not blow out the candles! It was cute!

From Derek's folks, I got the movie Tangled, which I then watched and LOVED. Thank you very much! The boys were super excited to see that as one of my presents.

I was also blessed with a new washer and dryer!They are lovely!!!

I had a wonderful birthday, got many happy wishes, and feel truly blessed! Thank you Derek, my boys, and everyone who made me feel so special!

So the next weekend, we headed to Utah to be there for Lily's baby blessing. It was of course a blast and way too much good food!
My brother had the idea of making smores but instead of graham cracker and chocolate bar, just use those striped cookies that are divine! It was DELICIOUS!!

The boys obviously loved it and had at least two each. It was worth standing out in the cold for!

Abby seemed to enjoy herself too!

As a part of March Madness, my brother does Mustache March! The whole family grew them ;)

We had never been to Goblin Valley but my sister invited us and I'm so glad!! I love living close enough to her to do a day trip!

Regardless that is was cloudy, VERY windy, and chilly, it was a lot of fun!

He wants more attention then we can give right now. I just couldn't give him up though. I feel like I committed to taking care of him so that's it. But sometimes I wonder if another home would be better for him. People that could give him more time. I don't know...a daily dilemma!

And then there were the basketball games! We don't usually watch sports but it was really exciting watching BYU play. Up until the end that is...

Friday, we read stories

We also went to McD's to play, see the Wrights, and have lunch. Nap time was another treat for the big boys who got to play on iphones/ipods! Love them!!!

That night was movie night!! We got in cozy clothes, popped some corn and watched my current favorite children's movie

Of course, at night, the adults got to chow down on sweets, play "Ticket to Ride", talk, laugh, and chill! Wonderful!

Saturday was an at home party! Since we had to buy a new toilet, we had a huge box we could invent with...and Marty did!!

While Marty created a draw bridge door, windows, tunnel, fortress thing...the boys all decorated dragon shields!

They had such a fun time playing! That night, Stewart got a fever and started to act pretty sick. NO FUN! He is very needy when sick so nursing with no daddy to help was hard. The Layton's were awesome in trying to help but he just wanted me. Derek tried to make it home that night but the snow was too bad so he spent the night in a hotel. Sunday morning, we sadly said good bye and within a couple hours, Derek was home. I loved having my friends here but I did miss Derek. Edison had some difficult moments, which you can't blame him when he has no down time and people in his home, but it made it hard on me. Weston was a little off schedule, Stewart got sick, and to top it off, my blender broke! I would not have survived without the Layton's! Let's just hope that experience didn't scare them off :) Love you guys and PLEASE come again! (next time we'll make Derek stay home)

Day 1 of the Layton's!!

Well, last weekend, Derek drove to Vegas for a sedation conference. Not wanting to be alone for 4 days, I invited the Layton's and they CAME!!! We had a blast. It was crazy busy and had some hard times but I'm so grateful for their friendship, service, and support.

Here is Day 1! It started out with our guest toilet breaking so a quick run to Home Depot before Derek headed out! It was the toilet I wanted to replace first in the house anyway so this gave us an excuse to buy a new one!! Megan and I fixed a nice breakfast of wheat blender blueberry pancakes while the men worked and then Derek left.

Marty went into play mode and the boys had a blast. They headed outside for some tramp fun!

While everyone else played outside, the babies played inside. Hudson is just 6 weeks older than Weston and SO SMILEY! This kid is just adorable. We did everything we could to get Weston to look up and smile too but no such luck! (Now, a week later, he is much more smiley! Go figure.)

Then, during nap time, the big boys got to bust out Wii Star Wars and Edison was in heaven.

Edison, being inexperienced with the game, thought that moving his arms would help his guy to move. I think Gavin got whacked a few times by Edison. He didn't seem to mind though, just worked around it. (Patient kid!!)

They were very absorbed into the game as you can see. This was a real treat for Edison!! (Thanks for bringing the game Layton's)

That afternoon, we went to the park. It was in the 50's, which would have been perfect if it weren't so windy!! Stewart loved being helped by Marty to be a big kid on the rings!

He is such a special bundle and addition to our family! Weston is giving me 5 hours in the night (woo hoo, and funny that 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep is something to shout about), smiled at me for the first time last Saturday (6 weeks) and is smiling sporadically now. We LOVE when we see it! His eyes are looking more blue so that will be fun if we get a blue eyed boy in the fam. He is filling out more with chubby cheeks and is starting to fit 0-3 month clothes and growing out of newborn. We love "baby Weston" (as the boys always call him and say)!!

So we tried to take some pictures of the three cousins that are close in age. Here is how the pictures went...

Weston is freaking out because he was cozily sleeping on the couch on his belly and is now on the floor! Shyloh is thinking "whats with him?" and Lily is not phased from being moved during her nap.

Weston is trying to be consoled with a binky and is still thinking "This floor is not any more comfortable with something in my mouth". Shyloh still wonders why the kid is crying and Lily is waking up happy and taking a little stretch.

Then Shyloh either decides that the binky does look kind of good and wants to try it or she is trying to push it in harder to get him to be quiet.

And then "Attack" and three hands go to stop her! It was hilarious!!
